Tweeters receive education about contempt of court

The UK Attorney General is using Twitter to educate users about the rules governing contempt of court.

In particular, they are warning users not to write social media updates that may lead to the abandonment of a court case, or those which may reveal victims’ identities in sensitive cases such as rape, or those relating to under-18s.

The warnings will be available via the Twitter feed @AGO_UK and on the Attorney General’s website.
