First transatlantic talks about data protection in three years

For the first time in three years, the EU held discussions about data protection with the US – and the American representative acknowledged that there are problems.

European Commission Vice-President Viviane Reding’s meeting with US Attorney General Eric Holder – where she was on a “reconnaissance mission” to find out if the Americans saw Europeans as partners or adversaries in the spying debate – was positive and constructive, said Reding to Euractiv.
